Rubia – meaning “blonde” in Spanish – is a beautiful, gentle soul with a soft golden coat and the most heartbreakingly expressive brown eyes. Around 5–6 years old, this lovely mixed-breed girl is sterilised and currently shares her kennel peacefully with another dog. She’s friendly with other dogs but would also be happy as the only pet in a calm, loving home.

Rubia is one of the most well-behaved dogs at the kennels – calm, quiet, and never any trouble. While some of the others might be cheeky or excitable, Rubia is a true lady. She doesn’t rush for anything, always taking her time with her slow, steady trot. Each day after playtime, before going back into her kennel, she pauses for a gentle stroke on the head and a few kind words – something that seems to mean the world to her.

Although Rubia isn’t fearful, she does lack confidence. She’s not a dog who will immediately show her full personality, but it’s clear she has so much love to give. With patience and care in a secure, quiet home, her affectionate and loyal side will flourish.

Rubia’s eyes tell a story of longing and sadness – she’s a dog who truly deserves a second chance. It’s hard not to fall in love with her, and it would mean everything for her to find the home she’s been waiting for.

She’s currently on a little diet – like many of us, she’s gained a few extra kilos – but with regular walks and the comfort of a home, she’ll soon be back in shape.
