This week, we’re excited to introduce you to the lovely Heno, a stunning black Galgo boy with a face you’ll want to squeeze! At approximately 4 years old, Heno is still young and full of life. He is castrated, has a passport, and is ready to travel to his forever home. A big, handsome boy, Heno walks well on the lead and shares a kennel peacefully with three other dogs. He gets along well with his kennel mates, so he could happily join a household with other dogs—or enjoy being the only furry friend in a home.

You may remember Heno from last year when he arrived with two other large boys. Like many Galgos rescued by our team, he was discarded by hunters once deemed “useless,” subjected to mistreatment that leaves both physical and emotional scars. When Heno and his friends first came to Paradise Rescue Kennels, they were severely malnourished and covered in wounds and scars—many of which still remain visible today. Despite the unimaginable hardships they endured, Heno and his companions arrived at Paradise with gentle, loving spirits. Thanks to the care, love, and safety provided by our team, their mental wounds have started to heal, and they continue to be the sweet, affectionate boys we knew they could be.

Though Heno is calm, gentle, and friendly, capturing his adorable face on camera is a challenge! He’s quick to move just as you try to snap a photo, but when he does pause, it’s as if he’s a natural model. Just look at those handsome poses—he’s ready for his close-up!
